The policy outlines the processes and mechanics of managing risk and carrying out generic risk assessments. There is no one definition of risk. Risk means different things to different people. It may be more useful to think instead of risk in terms of considering the consequences of any action and the likelihood of any harm arising from it. Some situations or activities present a potential or real risk that should be weighed up in the context of each individual event undertaken by NNKFA. NNKFA provide guidance, checklists and an assessment form on their website for event organisers to use. The relevance of this assessment form is to identify and mitigate the potential hazards members might encounter whilst taking part in NNKFA events. This will include identifying hazards for each event and deciding whether existing precautions are enough or more is needed to make the risk as small as possible. Dated 30/09/23
